Privacy & Security Policy

Aegis Financial is a brand of Child Holdings LLC, a California limited liability company ("Aegis," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use aegisfinancial.net, apply to join, or use the Aegis rep portal, and how we use and protect it.

What we collect

• Application details: your name, phone number, email, state, current work, licensing status, and anything you choose to tell us about yourself.
• Portal account details: your name, phone, email, licensing state, manager, password (stored only as a secure hash by our database provider), and your onboarding, study and exam-prep progress.
• Texting consent records: whether you agreed to receive texts, the exact consent wording you saw, and when you agreed.
• Basic usage data: privacy-friendly page-view statistics and standard server logs (such as browser type and IP address) used for security and to keep the site working.

How we use it

• To review your application and contact you about joining Aegis.
• To run your portal account: onboarding checklists, licensing and exam prep, progress tracking, and support from your manager.
• To send texts and emails you agreed to receive, such as onboarding reminders, study nudges and updates.
• To keep the site and portal secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Text messaging

If you opt in, Aegis Financial will text the mobile number you gave us with onboarding reminders, study nudges, interview scheduling and team updates, including automated texts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of applying or joining.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the messaging provider that delivers our texts on our behalf.

Who we share it with

Only service providers that help us run Aegis, under their own privacy and security commitments, and only as needed to provide their service:

• Supabase (database, sign-in and portal hosting services)
• Netlify (website hosting and form backup)
• Twilio (text message delivery)
• Notion (our internal recruiting records)
• Email delivery and analytics providers we may use to operate the site

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

How we protect it

• All traffic to the site and portal is encrypted with HTTPS.
• Passwords are never stored in plain text.
• Database access is locked down so each rep can see only their own records, and managers see only their own team.
• Admin keys stay on our servers and are never exposed in the website.
• We limit staff access to what each person needs for their role.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep application and account information while you are an applicant or active rep, and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping and legal reasons. Texting consent records are kept for as long as needed to show you agreed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices and rights

• Stop texts any time by replying STOP.
• Update your phone, texting choice and profile from the Account page in the portal.
• Ask to see, correct or delete your personal information by emailing us at the address below.

California residents: under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA. You or an authorized agent can make a request by emailing us. We will verify your request before acting on it.

Children

The site and portal are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect.
